“Borderline” bad conversation? Dan, my man, you are generous to a fault with everyone but yourself. If you were hammered, or anywhere close, you weren’t “borderline” anything. You were full bore, throw it down, gloriously, eloquently, one toke over the line FOUL. In the best possible way. And I say that with love. I’ve been there, I know.

Got curious and bought a bottle of the Lysholm Linie yesterday. Had a little after dinner. Very good, interesting, complex stuff (and helped me digest/sleep!).

In the defense of my family, our Christmas Day smörgåsbord is much less lutefisk-heavy: pumpernickel, rye crisps and hard tack with butter and Jarlsberg, lingonberry preserves, beet and cucumber pickles, olives, deviled eggs, liverwurst and hard sausage, pickled herring in sour cream, meatballs (my grandmother’s recipe), rice porridge. We only roll out the fish balls in white gravy, assorted pickled herrings and lutefisk when we have a large family event.

Oh, and you forgot to mention that our family glögg recipe is AWESOME.
