For those of you who are as yet unaware, I am in San Francisco this weekend to cover the American Distillers Institute Conference on brandy, along with Matt (Rowley’s Whiskey Forge), Matt (RumDood), Rick (Kaiser Penguin), Camper (Alcademics) and Gabe (cocktailnerd). To get things kicked off right, we have all converged on the home of Erik (Underhill Lounge) and his lovely wife to have a live Metaxa TDN. I’m going to attempt to keep up with things and post updates of interest, but failing that you should head over to the chat room or follow the drinks on Twitter.

6:11 – Metapassion is good by consensus. Two new arrivals: Rich and Michelle.
6:25 – Soup’s out and delicious. We’ve frightened the cats into hiding. Mrs. Ellestad is home. Oh, and Rick is making cinnamon-raisin bread because he decided it would be tasty with his homemade butter.
6:42 – Prince Henry: thumbs up. Athenian Diplomat: “the next one” is okay. Up next: mixing with Cynar!
6:47 – Artichoke Casserole featuring Cynar is go.
6:58 – KP has a pr0n fetish. Who knew?
7:00 – Revise: KP has been taken over by a spam bot. Named Martin.
7:22 – John Santer and Debbie Rizzo from Martin Miller’s are here, plus two more I haven’t met yet.
7:47 – Gabe’s flight is still delayed. Erik brought up rum from the basement and Coruba swizzles are underway.
8:15 – Mixing lull. Need more ideas.
8:35 – Martin is deep-throating a shot glass. No pictures, sadly.

It tasted like dishwater, but it was a fun idea nonetheless. Would have been much better if Camper had shown up and we could’ve foisted it on him instead of him hanging out at home stabbing Peeps with straws.
