Thanks Tiare and Chris!

T: I've had many an experiment go south because of that very reason, so I try very hard to keep exact measurements these days.

Chris: I actually had a really hard time writing this one, as most of my process is just habit and an extension of how I think, so it was really difficult to try to put it into a more organized, methodical form. Which is ultimately good for me, just a pain to get done. ;)

Fantastic article Marleigh!

I've been trying for some time to put to words a similar write-up on both the creative process & how tastes/aromas/inspirations &c. come into play; your article hits every note I had hoped to & then some. I especially like the mention of repeatedly tasting ingredients - a really critical step that...

Cheers for this look at your process & good luck with the competition!

Great post Marleigh!

The biggest mistake i do is that i sometimes just don`t think much of the stages, i just do and sometimes it turns out bad and other times real good and yes, i get to drink my mistakes too! But most often when it turns out bad its because i`m too lazy to measure properly which is something you always should do.

Thanks Matt. I usually do get input from others but it depends on who's around and what I'm coming up with. Some days it's hard to find a person whose tastes I trust so I have to rely on my own to get me through.

Great write-up Marleigh. I often find myself bogged down in the tinkering stage because it's just too much fun - or sometimes too frustrating because that final touch that the drink needs just seems so elusive. Usually at that point I'll involve another person whose drink taste I trust and try to get their input.

[...] On creation - not the divisive theological kind, more the fun, drinky kind - though there’s a solid theoretical base to all the artistry. [...]
