C,

Oh, and stagger I do when I leave the Ti...

Scott,

You're welcome! Well, good bars depends a lot on location. I tend to do most of my drinking at home, but here's where I like to drink when I'm out and about:

Tiki-Ti, on Sunset in Los Feliz/Silverlake
They open at 6, Wednesday through Saturday. Go early to get a seat. Ray's Mistakes are half price on Wednesdays—otherwise, pretty much everything on the menu is outstanding.

Seven Grand, Seventh and Grand, downtown
Every kind of whiskey you can imagine and then some. The bartenders are great, the drinks are fantastic. It gets too crowded for comfort around 10pm.

Taix, on Sunset in Echo Park
Go during the day or on a weekend because Fernando will be working. He's been tending bar longer than I've been alive and hasn't lost his touch.

Pure Luck, Heliotrope and Melrose, near LACC
Lucky Baldwin's, on Raymond in Pasadena
When I want a beer, these are my go-to watering holes. Pure Luck has lots of great beer from smaller breweries (often local, as well), and Lucky Baldwin's has my beloved Belgians in spades.

Places I don't necessarily go regularly, but have had excellent drinks there:
Osteria Mozza, Comme Ça, Lucques

Hit-and-Miss:
Mixville Bar/Edendale Grill, Malo (though I hear they have a new cocktail list, so it should be much better now), Mandrake

I tried all the liquor stores you suggested except for Beverage Warehouse (just haven't had the time to drive out that way yet) and I just have to say thanks. I think I'll be doing most of my shopping at Hi-Time from now one. Maybe next you can the me some good watering holes close to us as well. :)

Ginger beer and ginger ale are similar, but not the same. Ginger ale is much sweeter and more like a soda while ginger beer, though sweetened, has a much more pronounced and spicy ginger flavor.

You can find ginger beer at big liquor stores like BevMo, or if you're in a pinch you can add fresh ginger or ginger oil to ginger ale—or just make your own.

I guess I have made something of a thing out of the ginger beer, huh?

Angostura, you say? That seems like a grand idea...

You know, I came REALLY close to going with the D&S for my submission this month, but somehow I just had a feeling that I'd come here and find Marleigh had done the same...

I'm a big fan of the various rum & gingers...I do like to add just a dash of Angostura's bitters...
