VIP

Sadly, I really don’t have much to say about the VIP. It was neither here nor there, neither exceptional nor terrible. It runs in the vein of an Old Fashioned, blending bourbon and citrus, but follows it up with dry vermouth.
I’m not sure how I feel about dry vermouth mixed with bourbon, as this drink left me relatively unimpressed with the combo. Maybe one day I’ll give this a try with sweet vermouth and see if it fares any better.
1 oz bourbon
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz dry vermouthAdd all ingredients to old fashioned glass filled with ice. Stir, garnish with a slice of orange, and serve.
All in all, this isn’t one for the annals of history, but it might pop up again in the future when I’m feeling fond of bourbon.
