Tequila Canyon

Unfortunately, I don’t have any quality tequila in the house right now. During the summer we keep a much better selection around, but for the Tequila Canyon I had to make do with some bottom-shelf Sauza usually reserved for last-minute margaritas.

The fruit juices in this make it something of a beefier Tequila Sunrise, without the super sweet grenadine that can ruin the drink. The tequila definitely takes away from this one, though, so for any future incarnations of this drink, do not use cheap tequila.

2 oz tequila
4 oz cranberry juice
dash triple sec
1/3 oz pineapple juice
1/3 oz orange juice

Stir first three ingredients in highball glass filled with ice. Add pineapple and orange juice and serve.

The drink tasted really great except for the terrible tequila. I’ll definitely give it another try after we go shopping for summer liquor.
